Called twice yesterday. Never did get who they claimed to be as the recording, yes a recording, that they used started in mid sentence. First claimed I needed to call on my case number. Second said I'd be arrested if I didn't call back and good luck. Today's call stated the same. LOL, who's going to tell you "good luck" if you don't call back. Morons!
Received a call saying if I didn't respond I would have to appear before the Magistrate. Phone number is in NY. I live on the other side of the country.
Definitely a scam The IRS has issued several warnings about these calls urging you not to respond. The IRS will never contact you by phone to notify you of an issue but will send you notices via USPS.
