Why would anyone donate for "homeless veterans?" Why send them to war if we cannot afford to take care of them when they get back? Why don't they just fund the wars the same way, by robo telephone? "Can we count on you for $15 to help bomb Siria? Pick taxes or robo phone, I can't afford to pay both. How about giving all the welfare and homeless people access to telephones and they can beg for their own money each day?
As for why anyone would donate to the "homeless veterans" is a no brainer, there are many veterans who are actually homeless and there are legitimate organizations that do help. Unfortunately there are NOT enough organizations for all those vets , but there seems to be an endless supply of scammers , most not even in the US.
Always go IN-PERSON to a local organization and donate, get a receipt and help ensure at least some money actually makes it to our vets. NEVER give over the phone, as your just giving some terrorist/scammer another reason to list you for more scams.
