Well these people are still active. I was contacted today from 607-376-7350 and asked to accept a money order for some tires I have for sale on craigslist. And of course they offered an over-payment to hold them for later. Don't these people ever get in trouble for soliciting these types of scams.?
Listed a painting on Craigslist and received a text saying interested in paying via money order. Requested my full name and mailing info.AM adding $40 for saving it for me. My text message response- Craigslist Scammer. SHAME ON U!

A well-regarded Christian gentleman in Georgia once told me a story relevant to yours.
One day, a rainstorm hit town. It eventually rained so hard that an evacuation order was issued, and the street in front of a particularly devout Christian flooded. A policeman on a boat sailed buy, urging that the devout Christian get on the boat and evacuate.
The Christian said, no, I don't need to evacuate. Jesus will save me! And the boat sailed down the street.
About an hour later, the situation was becoming more dire. Another rescue boat floated by, just as the flooding reached the top floor of the Christian's house. The rescue workers pleaded with him to get onto the boat, as it was getting harder and harder to navigate the ever-increasing floodwaters and currents. The Christian repeated, I don't need to evacuate. Jesus will save me! And the boat sailed down the street.
Then the clouds really opened up, and the entire house was flooded all the way to the roof, which the Christian had somehow managed to climb onto. This time, a rescue helicopter flew over the roof and urged the Christian to climb up. The Christian just said again, I don't need to evacuate. Jesus will save me! And the helicopter flew away.
The next thing that the Christian knew, he's standing outside the pearly gates with Saint Peter looking at a list with a puzzled expression, scratching his head. "You're not on my list," he said. "What are you doing here?"
The Christian asked why didn't Jesus save me? They taught us all the time that all we needed to do was believe in him, and we would be saved.
Saint Peter said, "Save you?? We sent you two boats and a helicopter!! Why didn't you get on?"
Hi! I also got a message from this seller almost fell for it good thing the money order came late.. and search this number up because i was curious why he sent me over 400$ more than my asking price. Scam scam good thing i did reasearch on the last minute I would've lost 700$.
