when I got home, I noticed that they had called while I stepped out....I called the # back and it said it wasn't in service (I tried 2x's and got the same results)....
Just received another call from this number. First guy with heavy Indian accent claimed his name was Alex Parker from First Financial but those are likely fictitious names. We need to find out who the American company is that hired this Indian firm. Play along and tell them that you have a lot of debt at a high interest rate, are having trouble making your payments, but you are employed and could handle a reduced monthly payment. Then when you are transferred to the U.S. company, get as much information as possible (name, address, phone number, website), tell them that you have decided that you are not interested, and then file a complaint with the Attorney General in your state. In addition, if your number is on the federal do-not-call list then also file a complaint online at donotcall.gov.
