I got a call from this number stating that I had a loan in default with them. I told them I had no loans with anyone and he stated that they were gonna start legal action towards me and that their lawyers would be contacting me. I told good have them contact me I will get my lawyer. And as soon as I said that the man hung up on me. They have an Indian accent. And they refuse to tell u any informations other than claiming to be cash America. Fraud or scam it is.

Just received a call from this number. The guy had either an Indian or Bangledesh accent.  Said he was calling from Advanced Technical Support at Microsoft, and that they had received a number of error reports from my computer.  When I asked where he was calling from he said Dallas.  I told him that if he could transfer me to a Canadian representative that I would deal with them.  He wanted to show me why on my computer I could find all of these malicious viruses that they were receiving reports on.  So I thought I'd string him along for a half hour and finally told him there was no way that I was giving anyone remote access to my computer.  He was not impressed with me and ultimately hung up.  I have already complained to my telephone provider and they said they could not do anything, and that I had to contact the CRTC.  I have done that but I wish there was more that we could do about this.  Makes me worry about how many people fall for this scam!

THIS IS A SCAM. Read about the your-PC-is-infected scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.
