A Supervisor (called himself Mark Thompson) said he was from the US Treasury claiming that I owed back taxes. When we called back and asked him to verify my social security number, the call was dropped.

We got a call from this number as well. They left a message but you could hear background noise and sounded like a call room. Needless to say we will not be making a call back to them! Thanks JR for you post as well.
I got two phone messages - said his same was James Cameron. He was calling from Legal Affairs of the Department of the US Treasury. A little threatening. I am not calling back. Sounds like a scam.
i also received a call. it was a guy with a strong indian accent saying his name was john marshall from the department of legal affairs. couldnt understand him very well but i believe he said that if i do not call back, i should notify an attorney. ill contact the state attorney generals office. i think anyone receiving a similar call should do the same
