They say they are from Great Lakes Student Loans and they are updating their records wanting your phone no. that they already have or they couldn't have called you on it. Then they ask you for your address that they have or they couldn't send you info on your acct, and they just sent records for my income tax. I gave them no info and they asked if I wanted to speak to a supervisor and I said yes so the supervisor asked for my acct. no. which I didn't know so then she asked for my SS no. and I told her I give it to no one over a phone. The loan is paid up to date and ahead. They have called again this morning twice. Ignore the calls as something is not legit.
This person is completely wrong. Great Lakes are trying to update there information for REPO. The person they are calling about have not paid for there car. REPO
"Great Lakes Edu" 608-240-1310 called & left a msg for me to call them re a "Richard (inaudible)" who applied for a job & used me as a reference. They wanted to know the current contact information for him. Ok, how stupid! So I am to believe that "Richard" didn't give them his contact info but gave them mine as a reference? Yeah, like who would believe that? I will report them to the Do Not Call Registry.
It is Great Lakes; a company collecting student loans. They asked for my son's updated information. I called my son and he also confirmed it was Great Lakes on a loan he took for college over 10 years ago.
