Slightly accented man claiming he is calling concerning a United States Treasury Department "enforcement action." One of the oldest tricks in the book. Turned off caller ID, called back and the same yahoo answered the phone "US Attorneys' office." I laughed at him and told him that he was very bad at phone scams because this one has been played to death, and is stupid as all get go.
San Francisco, CA: Just got the accented scammer (British-educated Indian) leaving a voicemail message regarding an "enforcement action" from the US Treasury, mentioning ignoring the call is a Federal offense. HA! Seriously. Like the US Treasury makes voicemails a legal notice...
Just got this accented person on my voicemail, same British sounding Indian gentleman with a threatening matter saying he is calling from the US treasury Department for a serious "enforcement action" - oh my goodness!
Received pre-recorded greeting by English accented male as other recipients have described with same cautionary message about severe legal penalties if I don't return their call.
