When my husband lost his job (before Obamacare was even instituted), I made the mistake of giving our telephone number on an inquiry form to BC/BS when seeking info on plans in our area. Apparently, at the bottom of the form, in letters so small you need a magnifying glass to see them, there is an "opt out" box that you need to uncheck. Otherwise, you are giving permission for them to share your name and telephone number with other health insurance companies. The "do not call" list will not help you in this case as we found out, because we had solicited info and it was our failure to not uncheck that stupid box. Since that time, we have been literally bombarded with callers. I have an iPhone so I can block them as they call, but I think it's time for a new telephone number. Shame, I've had this one for 10 years.
This number called again, today. It is a health insurance services connected to the Affordable Health Care Act. There goal is match up individuals with health insurance companies.
