Got a call from this number. . The number is a 609 area code from NJ. I do live in NJ but a few towns over. The man on the other end asked for me by name (creepy) and said I was eligible for a discount on my utility bill. He asked if I had an old bill on hand to give him my account number. I told him to remove my number and stop calling. Beware of Utility Company Scams. Utility companies will not call you out of the blue and ask for your account number to give you a discount.
energy supplier call- she was very rude. My first response was not interested and to be removed from calling list. I had to repeat this five times before she hung up on me.
Call just came in to our company. American accent, music playing in the background -- likely a call center but not sure. She asked to speak to the person responsible for the utility bills. This is probably an illegal scammer, and therefore they won't have any internal DNC list, though we can go through the rigamarole in order to file a complaint. Since I don't usually have time for that at work, I just say, "No, thank you!" and hang up.
