Did you provide your home address when you registered with the rewards program.
The marketing people know cell phones aren't in an open, publicly accesible database like landlines are (the gold old phone book !)
And if your landline is in one database, it is probably in several.
Also, if you use your credit card at stores, they are often given phone numbers by the banks who issue the VISA and MasterCard accounts.
I use a bs number for all my rewards program numbers and i just got this 609-456-7425 call. Left no message and no callback. I am telling you if joining a rewards program from Pepboys or Sears leads to unwanted calls I dont know how people that leave their real numbers cope with this [***].
