Two members received phone calls today (4/15/15) stating that I needed to call this number by 5 pm today to pay something or face legal action. The caller stated both times it was the Camden County NJ clerk's office. 1) The actual Camden County Clerk's Office is based in 856 area code 2) I do not and have not ever lived or operated there and 3) the actual Camden County Clerk's Office closes at 4 pm. This is definitely a scam.
I received a call from this number and having received similar calls recently, I was suspicious. The caller asked for my husband or father in law (same name) and I asked them what it concerned and received the "summons to court" statement. I told the caller it was a "b------t" call and hung up. The caller called back immediately to question my intelligence. Just out of curiosity, I called the number back and got the same "operator" and told her that I was reporting the call to the FBI. The call came in at about 5:45 pm pacific time.
This company called and left a message on my voice mail detailing action being taken against me if I did not call them back immediately. They called after 7pm on a Saturday and they also called my sister in another state to report they wre taking action against me (which is illegal) and that she should have me call them immediately. Supposedly they were calling regarding a matter from a county I don't live in, and threatened to go to my job and my home to pick me up. However, they never said whom they were representing and exactly what "debt" I supposedly owed.
Company threatening me with a summons. Stated that I have 2 counts of fraud against my SSN and Name. At first my information was given to them. Then I did some research and dropped my old card so no payments can be taken out. Today I received a call 2 times already. I am going to contact the Attorney General's Office. This need to be stopped.
