It want a call I got a email that had this number on it. It stated it was from the district attorneys office in new jersey and that I owe $1800.00 for a loan I never received and if I did not pay I would be arrested. Also sent a document he claimed was the car rest warrant. Tried calling this number someone picked up phone and said hello. Nowcif this was real why would he say hello insteadca district attorneys office of john j Hoffman.
We are not located in New Jersey. One of our employees received a voicemail purportedly from "Officer Joseph Fuentes" of the "State Police" - but not identifying which state. It sounds like the same message everyone else here is talking about. The number 609.738.0944. The caller had a robo-type voice with a bit of an accent - possibly Indian. I called it and the answering voice had a heavy accent - possibly Indian (my sincerest apologies that I'm not great at recognizing accents on the phone). He claimed to be "Mark Henry" from the NJ Attorney General's office in Trenton. He claimed to be an attorney, demanded payment (but wouldn't tell me the amount without my name), and became quite aggressive. I asked him a few questions that only a real attorney at the AG's office would know, and he couldn't answer them, and then tried to turn the tables on me when I couldn't help myself and laughed - he threatened me with legal action and an arrest warrant. I hung up and called the real AG's office and alerted them to this scam. They sometimes receive calls from the elderly who are confused by a call/scam, so they were appreciative of the heads-up. (Needless to say, they certainly had not called my employee about an outstanding warrant). It bothers me immensely that scammers do this to try and steal from people.
Same as above. Answered Attorney General's office gave name "Derick Froster" and badge ID BA 1296. Got angry when I continued to question, yelled expletive and hung up.
yes got this call today 05/12/2015 .same kind of things that you all are getting about loans.He also mentioned mr so called Fuentes.called my police dept.he advised me not to worry about it and suggested for me to google the number.This is a scam cause I have never asked for a loan.
Happened to me today 5/13/15. It was a robo call message left on my voice mail from 609-738-0944. Stated that I owed money and that I needed to contact the Attorney General's office within the next 2 hours or else a warrant would be issued for my arrest. It is such a shame that these crooks can get away with this. I have an elderly mother, that I know would call them back and think that it was for real. This is who they are preying on.
