hackers, scammers and the like just started using a new number which they hold in front of them during their annoying, actually evil, endeavors. it is 609-883-8851, and more are undoubtedly out there and about to be out there in this storm of phone scamming which is hitting us right now. here is what i posted about 515-954-7706
We are dealing with a MUCH bigger issue than just THIS number. Scammers, hackers, telephone freakers and hoax authors have existed for a long time in the technology world, but have always been little islands on their own. The past year or so, we find their skills are brought together, and one result is this "spoof" calling. They hack databases, then start working down the very long list of contacts they gained during the hacking process, pick a suitable company to hold up as their fake id, such as JJ Keller, and call the contacts with a "spoofing" technique which makes it look on the receiver's phone as though JJ Keller ( or whatever mask comoany they use ) called. I have had calls where they use Verizon support numbers, my bank's number, etc etc. When they get you on the phone, the con artist takes over and attempts to con you into sending him or her money for something you will never receive. BTW, the actual manual from JJ Keller costs under $10.00, I bought and own the latest one from them. This is a matter for the FBI, no doubt.
