Received call this morning from Jessica @ (609) 786-2408. I'm scheduled to meet with J. Lewis, CEO. Assuming the number has changed, but is this same scam everyone is warning me about?
Received voicemail from "Lanie with MGA", who "is in receipt of your resume" and "would like to discuss and setup a meeting at our local office". Turned out this was essentially a scam from MGA Consultants for Professionals (www.mgasearch.net). They only found your info via CareerBuilder.com or Monster.com, and they have no specific job opportunity to discuss. They convince you that they have special job search methods and access, and charge you a fee for their services. Personally I don't have a problem with career search consultants, but they shouldn't be fishing for leads online and calling you with deceptive premise.
"Google Voice does wonders." Received a call from Katie: "Hello, I'm trying to reach mister.--------, this is Katie calling from M. G. A. we have received your resume online and like to take a moment of your time to discuss please give me a call back. My number is (609) 919-0678. My extension is 307. Thank you and have a good day."
These people are NOT what they appear to be. They are a scam. They charge a fee and want you to sit with their VP to discuss your outlook and options. ALL the positions posted are from positions OTHERS have gotten. This is horrible. Serious professionals beware. The worst part is that CareerBuilder.com has their scams posted everywhere.
Yes I just received a call from (609)919-1397 her name is Rose Marie and yes no jobs. Why does Career Builder this to go on? Letting them pray on people that need a job and may not have money. This is a scam. Watch out.
