Received a call from this number… Answered it someone on the other end was claiming to be collecting for law enforcement fundraiser. Kind of pushy individual on the other end of the phone trying to bully me into committing to sending the money. They claimed only needing $15 and when I said I was unemployed and couldn't commit to that he tried to bully me into sending $10 I told him once again they would need to speak to my husband. Because I was unemployed and couldn't commit to that. Once again he tried to smooth talk me into sending $10 I told him once again they would need to speak to my husband. Because as far as I understand it's claimed that police will never call your home asking for donations. Couple that with the fact that he was so insistent, it really made me uncomfortable and very suspicious so I hung up on him
Had an extremely pushy guy when I called the number back. It came up as Atlantic City. After seeing the number 2x today and 2x yesterday, I called it back. He went into his speech like a robot. Said he was calling for a fundraiser on behalf of the police. Shady... I insisted I already support my local police station. He cut me off saying will that be $20 or $15? I tried to talk again and he said that the fundraiser sets aside 2 tables for the police and they desperately needed our help. Haha I then said..."Look, I've already looked this number up online and can agree that you are very pushy. I told you 2x I supported my local station already. I don't know you, and I'm not giving you any money. I will be reporting your number and adding your rudeness to the report. You are not to call this number again. I know my local police station would never hound me for money or call me from a different county." I do feel it's important to answer, just in case they scope out numbers for empty homes to rob. I called back on my terms.
The rude person was claiming to be from the Police Brotherhood Foundation and wanted money via a green dot
prepaid card. Since there is a real person on the other end when you call back. I gave the number to the local police fraud unit. Since it was coming from the Princeton, NJ area.
