I've had this same message 3 times today.
"Hi, uh, this is John from the shipping department of Emergency Medical Alert, I was calling to uh schedule a delivery of your medical alert system, it's uh the "fallen, and I can't get up" type of system you've seen on TV. Looks like the system's been uh recommended by thousands of hospitals and medical professionals, uh, let's see, says here that the system's already been paid for. Looks like you're getting the system because uh either yourself, a friend, a family member or maybe even someone you know has experienced a fall in the past so uh again it's already been paid for so there's no cost to your whatsoever. Also says here that the shipping has already been paid for so to uh schedule the delivery of your Emergency Medical Alert System press 1 uh again to uh have your system shipped out to you press 1 now...press 5 to decline the shipment of your system...."
I pressed "1" and got Jonathon on the line, gave him a false name, Joe Black, which he didn't realize was false. If he actually had a referral from someone, he sure would have known my actual name. He told me "for security reasons", he couldn't tell me who referred my name. When I persisted wanting to know who referred me, he kept repeating the same "script answer" and finally spouted out some quite profane and vulgar language before I told him that I was recording this and would report him. He told me that it wouldn't bother him if I did report the call.
This company/scammers... will not stop calling you. They have called my home for THREE YEARS NOW. I have tried everything, nothing works... NOTHING. The only thing that gives me some satisfaction... is when I can actually get a hold a live person... I waste as much of their time as I can, making believe I'm going to purchase this home alert system... after trying to give them a 36 digit Credit card number... ten times or so, they often hang up. You are in big trouble if they have your number...
