They call constantly saying they are collecting an owed debt. I proceed to tell them that I work with a Credit Repair agency and I have NO OUTSTANDING DEBTS and yet the call again and again. Will have to block their number. The line they are calling on is also very grainy and hard to hear them. What scammers.
I had received random multiple calls with no messages, had no idea who it was and since no msg was left, I just ignored it. Then one day I accidentally tapped this number on my call list log instead of the number of the office I was trying to call back and I ended up calling this number (which incidentally was very similar to the number I had been intending to call) without meaning to. What happened afterwards freaked me out.
A man immediately answered with a casual "Hello", as if I had just called a friend. I asked him, "Is this the --------- office?" because at that moment I felt like maybe I had dialed the wrong number. He asked, "Is this -------?" and used my first name. Completely disoriented for a moment at what was happening, I said yes. Never answering my initial question, this guy then told me to hold on and placed me on hold for a few seconds. I was a bit confused and feeling like something was wrong when suddenly he came back on and asked me, "Is this ------?" using both my FIRST and LAST name. Again I said yes, automatically. He asked how he could help me. I started to explain why I was calling, as if I was speaking to the receptionist at the office I had MEANT to call and he stopped me and told me I was calling "GMC". He asked, "Do you understand Mr/Ms ------?" I realized I had dialed the wrong number and immediately I hung up. I was so freaked out that he knew my full name when I had no idea who they were. I also felt like an idiot for not realizing and hanging up sooner. Be warned!!! I have now blocked the number.
