They called me today 12/19/09 and my son picked it up. They asked for me by my full name so he assuming it was a telemarketer told them a yo momma so fat joke and hung up. They didn't call back yet. It comes up on my home phone as Northampton PA.
This is the Committee for Missing Children fund raising organization. Call their customer service number 800 594 6135 and follow the prompts to get your number taken off their calling list.
This number comes up on my caller id as North Hampton, PA. They have been calling for the past two weeks 2-3 times per day. I answered tonight at 8:30 to get a very rude person asking for my young daughter. When I asked who was calling they just kept repeating my daughter's name. I asked for a supervisor and again they asked for my daughter. I dialed the number back and got a recording saying that they are the Committe for Missing Children. The recording offered a Do Not Call list by dialing 1-800-594-6135 and pressing 9. This is an unprofessional organization hiring creepy people with little to no phone manners.
It's a call from the "Committee for Missing Children". How benevolent-sounding. After all, who doesn't LOVE children? And, golly...MISSING children...if THAT doesn't tug your heart strings...! The REAL story: This is a sham organization, operated out of someone's HOUSE! Annualy Revenue: $2,587,211. Annual (Paid) FUNDRAISING Expenses: $2,289,907. IOW, they're paying 85% of your and others' contribution to PAID FUNDRAISERS (Tele-Beggars)! Then, husband & wife operators pay THEMSELVES $126,000 in "salary". That leaves $171,304 - only 6% of your donation - to actually "help" missing children, if they're doing that at all. It's sad and pathetic that some people prey upon the kindness and sensibilities of others to LASSO A SALARY FOR THEMSELVES. Shame on them! Don't give!
