This number has called us over 20 times to our place of business looking for an employee that has been gone for a year and a half now. We have asked that they not call and we have repeatedly told them that this person no longer works here. If this continues we will be forced to take alternate action to stop this harassment for a person that no longer works here.
I have been receiving calls from this # stating that there is a class action suit against me. Something to do with western union *confused* but anyway..does anyone think this is fraud??

Yes, this is absolutely a scam. I periodically get these calls on both my cell and work numbers (really annoying when they call at work and tell who ever picks up the phone that I am about to be arrested if I don't immediately call back). What I do is get their number, post a comment like this one on a site, and then I call them back and tell them that I am recording our conversation to report to the correct officials (police department and attorney general's office. Usually, they threaten, then they hang up. Unfortunately, this scam is then taken up by other individuals who like to prey on the weak who think they will be arrested if they don't pay!
Just got a call from Officer Michael Knight as well. Sounds like Michael was born overseas. Threatened to have a team of investigators arrest me at my house if me or my attorney does not get back to him. These scam artists are so bad I can't believe anyone falls for this sh*t. If whatever debt collector doesn't work within the Fair Debt Collections Practices act, they are not legit. In the US, you are not allowed to threaten arrest as this is not a crime, at best it is a civil complaint and at best a small claims court issue. Tell them to go screw!
