I received a call from this # at work today. A woman asking for the owner of the business. I asked, may I tell her who's calling; to which she replied Emily Reed and I asked with implying where are you calling from. She told me she was with Merchant Accounts so I asked if we had an account with her, knowing this was most likely a sales call, and she became extremely agitated and told me I was rude and that it was a private matter and that she needed to speak to the owner. She then w/attitude asked if I had the authority to make financial decisions for the owner of the business. I explained that I was required to screen the owners calls to find out who was calling from where and the reason for the call prior to putting the call through and that if she could provide me with that information I would be happy to transfer the call. She proceeded to try to give me her sales pitch and I interrupted her to explain that I did not have the authority to make those decisions and she hung up.
