Caller ID came up PA Directory Assistance. Caller stated ventilation service. He did not know why ID was Directory Assist. Became belligerent. Hung up on caller, then reported call to FTC.
Claiming to be calling for the "Chimney Service." Said they would be in my neighborhood next week (which is funny, as every house in our development has a gas fireplace)... I told them that since they know my name and phone number, that they should have my address too, and that they should feel free to stop by anytime.
Interesting information. I don't have a fireplace, just gas furnace. I didn't answer the call at all since I don't know them and they did not leave a message, a sure sign they are a telemarketer. Showed as: Dir Assist,Pa. 9:35 am on 3/11. Calling during the daytime when people are working. Hmmmm.
Called to say they were coming to clean the chimney Tuesday morning. They new my address and said that it would be 39.95 for the service. I told them I didn't know anything about this and hung up on them.
