BTW - these outfits will give you a lowball quote (they say they use mapping software to get you property size); once they come out t service they will say your property is larger than what they had and will double or triple the cost of service.
I told them that I was on the National Do Not Call list, told them to put me on their do not call list, and warned them that they can be fined. They told me that you have to put it on every year now. I checked and this isn't true. It stays on until you take it off or change your number.
I believe this is a collaborative scam due to Verizon selling their "published" numbers to business partners. I have a dedicated office line for my home office paid for by my employer. Soon after the phone was installed, I began getting sales calls from Verizon. Most recently, this lawn care company informed me that I had a "complaint" from my utility provider regarding my trees overhanging the box. I took pictures of all the utility boxes and forwarded them to both electric and gas companies. There were no formal complaints - this was a ruse to get me to have my trees trimmed by this company.
I pay for an "unlisted" number. The sales calls have gone down to a trickle. The only ones I still get are from this "partner" who had the information prior to my paying to remove my number from the directory.
