I receive a message from this number saying they are from Ohio (Philadelphia, Pa area code) saying they are going to serve me at my residence. They list an address I have never lived at before. I sent a text back saying I was going to report them. The text went through. It is a scam. A place of business would not receive a text message. They also say I to call back if I wish to settle before I am to be served. They have been saying these things for over a month now. What can I do to make these scammers stop? What is someone falls for the scam. Also, you can not understand the name of the person calling or where they are calling from. They mumble this information.
You are NOT warned if you are to be served. When the thief calls again, demand WRITTEN proof of the debt MAILED to you (and wait for the excuses to begin). That is the only official notification & he has 5 days to mail it to you from the date of your request.
