Person asked for me by my first name claiming to be a "Customs Agent" and said he had questions I "had to answer" because he was a "federal agent". Hung up after I told him I thought he was full of (blank) and laughed at him. Reported caller to ICE and to police department in Newtown Square/Newtown Township where call originated. Both said they would follow up. Not sure if this was a contest scam or identity theft attempt. I cannot find my name and cell phone number anywhere online - so I am not sure where this person got it. Report calls like this to any federal agency the person claims they are from and to their local police department. If someone calls you from outside your home state, it's highly unlikely your local law enforcement can or will do anything about it.
Exact same thing happened to me today. Said he was a customs agent and gave me his badge number and I told him I could barely hear him because it sounded like he was on a cell phone. He asked me if I was on a cell phone and I said yes and he said he was on a land line and asked if he could call me on a land line. I refused. He had a very thick accent and didn't sound like a customs agent at all. I think it was a scam but I'm just going to ignore it.
