I was suspicious about this # since they never leave messages and call at odd times. After some very extensive research, I discovered that this is an unlisted # for PPL Inc. Although when you call, it is a call pilot for "North Hill Corp" or something of that nature asking for a mail box #.
I have no idea how legitimate this # is or whether it is affiliated w/ PPL Electric Utilities.
This number calls me repeatedly and at odd hours as well. Never leaves a message. I do have PPL Electric Utilities, but my payments are current and on time. What a waste of money on this company's part. Why don't they use the money they are spending on this absurd calling system to lower costs or help those in need. I'm sure many would be very thankful.
This is most definitely a debt collection agency. It may work for other companies besides PPL services. I get calls from them all the time for the person who had my phone number before me (3 years ago). I can't seem to find any way to stop these particular calls. Most of the time, you can call back and at least get through to someone eventually to tell them they have the wrong person, but with this collector - no way. I am very frustrated and disgusted with this. Note after 3 years I still get dozens of calls from many different agencies for this person who owes these debts. I fight this harrassment constantly. Changing my number would be just too disruptive. What can I do?
They use an IVR system for these calls. It wont recognize that you are there until you say hello. Then you will have to wait a few seconds, most of the time with silence on the other end, before you get a prompt to press 1 or 2. Just hit the key and you should eventually get the opportunity to speak with someone. I have to agree, it did sound shady. I got it on my vm, and it said something about my "commercial license " .
