Everytime you receive a call from a telemarketer, do this:
Get the number they called from.
Call your representatives in Congress and tell them you just received a call from a telemarketer at ( tell them the phone #), then say thank you and hang up.
If the millions of us across the country start doing this, it will annoy and jam their phone lines.
Then the worthless self interest motivated elected officials will put some teeth in the Do Not Call Registry.
The point of doing this is to jam and inconvenience your representatives phones in order for them to take action against these unwanted calls. There are ways to stop these types of reported unwanted calls before they get to our phones, BUT there are currently laws that demand that all phone carriers connect all calls. Put some teeth in the Do Not Call Registry so reported unwanted callers can be stopped by phone number no matter where they are calling from. The law needs to change. If you do not want to take action, pass the word to others that will take action.
They are trying to sell you crappy health insurance. Answer the phone the next time they call and tell them to stop. It's the only way to make them stop.
Phone call this morning, recorded message about "issues with your health insurance". Message directs you to call an 888 number with "your health insurance information available" to call. Call makes it sound legit and like there's a problem with your health insurance. Ridiculous.
Guy just called from this number and when I answered there was no response. I was getting ready to hang up when I heard him say " So I punched the guy in the F*ing face" so I said hello again and he started rattling off about how my health insurance was not adequate for Obamacare and I need to continue filling out an application. First I have had a new number for 2 days... 2 how did they get my number and know my husbands name??? And I dont appreciated the lack of professionalism by dropping the F bomb and then trying to scam money out of me for insurance.. seems like these people are NOT legit.
