I received a call from a man with a Southern accent, saying he was (I forget his name), from the State Police, collecting funds to help officers who are injured, and their families. Would I like to make a one-time pledge to help them. He would send an envelope if I would agree. I said I don't respond to telephone solicitations, (and was in mid-sentence saying that I 'would' accept the envelope and when verified, I'd definitely made a donation, BUT, barely began that sentence when he hung up). Strange thing, however, he was still making his pitch and 'he' was also cut off?! I phoned the State Police and was told they DO NOT solicit over the phone. BEWARE, FRIENDS! All I lost was the Return Call Service fee, and a little bit more disappointment in our world. : (
I got a call from thus number at 9PM at night on a school night!! Woke my one child up and me up!! I did not anwser because i figured if is that important that late they will call my cell. Did not leave voice message either!!
