Pressed 1, but they couldn't hear me. 'Google' scam. I really wish Google would go after some of these guys. Wished I could get the name of the actual SEO company (once you talk to them a while, they'll tell you, but you have to ask. Otherwise they are happy to let you think it's Google).
You have to pretend to be interested. Answer their questions (with fake answers, of course - never give them your actual name). Once they get comfortable and believe your act that you are interested, they will relax and start giving out more information.
They KNOW they are confusing people into thinking they are Google, since they are afraid of complaints against their true identity. If they truly did what they say, and provided the service they say the do, they would be proud of their name and reputation. In order to find them out, you have to pretend you are interested in becoming a customer.
I got a call from them today, give them a fake name, claimed ownership of the business. Unfortunately, I said I was looking for national business, and they hung up. Looks like they are targeting unsuspecting small business. A larger company with a national presence is going to be more dangerous for them.
I'm getting daily calls from these "Google" jerks. No matter if I hang up, press "2" button to get off their list, beg or scream at them to stop calling...they never stop. It's total harassment going on for weeks.
They say there are many companies using the exact same message so if I get taken off on list, I might be on another 100....really terrible.
