I too am a chiro clinic and received the same call today from Max Carpenter. I was confused at first as I have Jewish patients and he said someone recommended me to them. When he couldn't tell me who and mentioned a monthly fee for referring people to me I immediately knew is was BS.
I received a call from someone identifying herself as Haley from the Medical Desk of the Jewish Center in Eden Prairie. After giving me the indication that she had specific patient referrals for me and gathering information about my acupuncture practice, she quickly moved into asking for money to be on an exclusive referral list, costing upwards of $240/month. She described having past-due deadlines and that she needed to meet immediately to share information with me about the services the Jewish Center offers in order to get my listing active as soon as possible. When I asked for more information about the Jewish Center, she denied having access to a computer to send email, said she did not have information that could be mailed by post, and said they do not have a website. I told her I was unable to meet and needed time to research. Reeks of a scam! There have been similar scenarios reported on this site from another phone number.
On March 29, 2017, I got a message from "Kathy", who asked me to call her because she was trying to "send a couple clients over". The voice sounded similar to calls received in the past from "referral" brokers. Googled the number and found a report that was just a couple weeks old suggesting a different kind of marketing scam. Didn't bother to call back to learn more.
I received the same voice mail from "Kathy" saying she "had a few jobs to send over" whatever the heck that is supposed to mean. i googled the number and ended up here. glad i didn't call back.
