Got an unsolicited robo call from this purported number, which my phone identified as coming from ASH PHILLIPA. The canned message hawked a credit card debt reduction consolidation offer, and instructed recipients to dial 1 to speak to a representative. I dialed 1 to ask who/what I was dealing. A man who identified himself as "Frank" picked up and immediately asked me if I had at least $3,000 in credit card debt. Instead of answering him, I asked what company I was dealing with and he responded "we're Card Servicing" and added something to the effect that they work with hundreds of credit card companies. "Frank" then testily asked again about my level of credit card debt. Instead of answering his question, I asked why his company was calling a phone number on the National "Do Not Call" Listing. He asked me why I had responded and I told him I didn't want him or his company bothering me again. He hung up. I plan to complain to the NDNCL about this call but am not holding my breath that it will make any difference. Why in the world isn't government doing anything about these unsolicited calls? If they don't have the manpower, at least they could deputize legitimate law firms to go after the fraudsters and sue them out of business and/or lay the groundwork for criminal actions.
