got a call today, 2/5/2013 1:11PM from 6125641321
asked for my ssn
I asked for who is calling, I got a first name only
I asked what company, she said 'convergent outsourcing'
that was enough for me to start researching and I hung up.
This number is touted all over Minneapolis as belonging to "reliable locksmith, 730 2nd ave, minneapolis, MN 55402-3400
I went to the address to check: it is a highrise in Minneapolis, no locksmith nowhere in sight, also not on the skyway. Asked a janitor, and a security officer: 'never heard of it', they worked years at that place.
Further googling brought out that this is a fraudulent collection scam, supposedly a reputable company operating since 1950. Many online references for fraud calls and credit report 'hijacking'/'extortion'.
From recent a- to c- on bbb: if this is the company that called: they have created a fake duplicate 'online identity' to hide their number.
If anything violates the fair collection legislation.... working on putting this together to have their Minnesota license revoked. Anyone wants to join? post here.
I received a call from this number, I answered to a recording which stated that it was a very important matter. If it is so important why wasn't it someone live on the phone ? I hung up immediately. So now I am researching the Durrant Group and find it's a scam.
For the last four days 564-1341 coming up as the durrant group has called my house and giving a file number and then saying that their client wants a immediate response, and if I don't respond I wont like their actions. When I called the number from a different phone they didn't answer or the line was busy for hours. I think that this number 564-1341 is also connected to 564-1321, and they are both scams, so watch out people!
I just got a call from these guys. ID said Durrant group & it was a recording saying it was urgent. I chose option 4 for wrong number even though they did say my name. I hope that gets me off if their list...
I received a call from this number on 9/16/14. The caller asked me to verify my address, email, etc. I refused. They said they were from Convergence and calling about a paypal account. I told them I would not verify personal information over the phone without checking into their legitimacy first. I called Paypal customer support 877-981-2151 to verify and yes, Convergence IS a collection agency that PayPal DOES use. The problem is I have a active PayPal account and it is not negative or past due so I am thinking this may still be a scam. I will wait to see if they send me something in the mail.
