Caller claimed to "have trouble with headset" at start of call (there was a pause). Then offered a 75% discount on some travel package because I supposedly stayed at one of their resorts in the past (despite that I haven't been to any resort in the US in over a decade, and for that matter they didn't say what resort I had stayed at).
The female voice then asked if she could ask me a few questions before transferring me to a travel agent. I said no, trying to explain to her that I was at work at the time. Before I could even finish my sentence though I realized that the call had ended. This type of behavior leads me to believe this was all a scam in the first place. And further more, thinking over the call I think the whole thing was pre-recorded and programmed to just pick up my response and probably have pre-programmed scenarios to handle. Me saying "no" therefore abruptly ended the call.
Continues to call me saying this the my "last and final opportunity" to extend the warranty on a vehicle I no longer own. I have asked them repeatedly to take me off their list and explained I no longer own that particular vehicle.
Thanks for your note here. Pretty much the same thing happened to me, though I hung up before the woman got to the part about asking me about the travel agent. I tried to interrupt and tell her we are not interested but she just kept talking, so I hung up. Probably, as you said, a recorded call.
Missed call and no voicemail left a little after noon today. My history shows it's their 1st and only time calling me so far. If they call again, I'll block it based on the comments.
