I received a call from a man with a thick accent who claimed to need my company info to update our info for Google Maps. He asked to verify information which appears on our webpage. When I asked how I could trust he is from where he says, because I found his inquiries fishy, he said that if I check google maps in 24 hours and see our company show up then I will know he was really from google. Um...what? I was not satisfied, so I did not offer further info. He then said I could call the number back (he did not give a number, so I assume he meant the number on caller id) and they would answer google offices. I was still not convinced.
Heavy, heavy accent trying to verify hours of operation and address. Would not say where he was from or the purpose of his call. Sketchy, if you ask me.
