Two calls within minutes of each other, same number. A little checking shows, while this call is supposedly originating from area code 612, which is the Minneapolis area, the phone numbers for nearly every IRS office in the Minneapolis area use area code 651. No area code match. Recorded message is cheap text to voice synthesizer. The fact that a recorded message was even used in the call (real IRS uses certified mail). This is no IRS call. It is a scam robocall.
Received a phone call followed by a voicemail (attempting to be an authoritarian government official!). Wants me to call back immediately about a "case file". No mention of what the "case file" is about.
Same thing just happened to me. Recorded message about a lawsuit case file and that I should call back.. Also got a call from 800-311-5947 saying the same thing.
