I just came home from work and listened to my messages telling me I was to contact the Tax Office at 613-209-0520 - scammer, scammer, scammer. Obviously, I did not call that number.
I had received a call from CCRA???? concerning an unpaid tax bill dating back to 2010. The notice was Informing me that i was being taken to court for not responding to am notice that was sent to me in the mail back in Jan. of this year. The caller had informed me that I was being petitioned to court over this and I could clear it up by providing the payment to my bank account and it would be paid. The caller Ronnie Williams or whatever, badge number whatever, could not provide any of my personal information. I had asked him also about this previous notice that was mailed to me and to what address it was sent to, to make sure it was the right one. Anyway Ronnie had no good answers so I asked to speak to his supervisor and then dead air. I do not believe this to be legitimate and warning anyone else of calls of this nature.

This is a fraud call from Cornwall, ON. I would never return a call such as this, as to do so implies that you agree with their statement, that you are committing fraud against the CRA. Report this to the authorities.
This just happened to me too in London. They could not tell my address nor did their voice message sound very legit (or proper English). The phone number does not match the CRA agent, and although he gave me a "Case File", Name and Badge information, he said that if I hung up right away I would end up in court and it was already filed. When I said let me 'gather information this sounds phishy' he said, "This is already done". I said, "Well let me call my lawyer, get your info and call YOU back."
Very phishy. Glad to know this has happened to other people.
