We as well have received a call from (so called Officer) Jason White with a heavy accent, from Canada Revenue Agency. What I don't understand is why Revenue Canada or Telus are not pursuing this scam!!
Someone called from this tel, claiming to be an Officer, and was checking to see if I had received notice against me for a warrant. he said that I need to have my license and passport ready. I laughed at him, and hung up. Obviously, its a fraudulant call.
Male called from this # - claiming to be an Officer of Canada Revenue Agency. He informed me that I was found guilty of willful fraudulent Tax Filings for the past 6 years and had been assessed an amount due (approx. $4500) and that a Warrant for my arrest had been issued and if I did not listen/settle he would enact it ... would send the Police to arrest me, would impound my vehicle, and seize my home and assets. He claimed that the conversation was being recorded and I should not interrupt him. I, of course did interrupt him, informing him that I had received no written notice from CRA indicating any issue. (I have no reason to believe that my account is not in good standing) He yelled at me "not to interrupt" and started his aggressive spiel again. All the while I was GOOGLE-ing the telephone number. I found several instances of it being used for scams. I interrupted again, told him so, and hung up.
Same as above ... beware! Phone number 613-366-3856
His words exactly "Registered a criminal case is against 'your name' concerning tax evasion, and tax fraud ... so before this case gets any more serious, and a county sheriff officer comes to you with a warrant you need to call back immediately for further information at a direct hotline # for the CRA Headquarters; that is before you face legal consequences with the issue at hand."
Unbelievable ... needless to say I deleted the message!
Received a message from Officer Jason White of CRA saying an arrest warrant had been issued & my property would be seized. I called back & got a voice mail identified as the officers. My account with CRA is in good standing, no idea what this is about. I presume it is a scam.
I also received a voicemail from "Officer Jason White" of the CRA. He claimed there was a warrant for my arrest and that my property would be seized. The caller didn't use my name and didn't seem to have any of my personal information. Also, "Jason White" had a heavy accent.
