just got a call from this number claiming to be Canada revenue agency coming after me for some tax investigation. After calling them back a guy with East Indian accent answered claiming to be David Miller .... LOL ... So I asked him his employee number again as he rattled it off real fast ... Then I asked him for the primary number of his office and he said I wouldn't do that if I were you. So I said I want to do that. He told me to go f--- myself then LOL ... TOO MANY FRAUDS OUT THERE .... Don't fall for it on the phone people if it is official it will be in black and white. Tell these jokers to call the next number and leave you alone as you are too smart and have a real life to live please.
Received two voice messages from this number advising me of a criminal tax evasion case against me and asked that I call back for more information. As I am familiar with these scams I did not call back.
Where is Bell Canada or other providers in such case where the number is known.
Can law enforcement do anything if I reported such case? I know they always advise people about such scams but are they doing anything to stop them?
this number just contacted me to advise that a complaint was filed against me for tax evasion and fraud. They claimed to be the CRA. I did not call back.
Oddly enough, this isn't the first time we get called, whoever that was. We got a second call today.
My mother had picked up, trying to think what she could've done wrong. As John said, there was a guy on the phone with an East Indian accent talking to her. She kept him on the phone (giving no information about herself) for some time while my brother was looking it up. Good thing he was around.
If something sounds suspicious, don't be scared to question the caller.
