Been receiving multiple phone calls from "Microsoft Tech Support" telling me my computer has reported it is infected with a number of viruses, malware, etc. They have called several times today from different numbers:
240-555-0112, 617-555-0147, 613-555-0146 and 228-555-0111
This is a scam , they wanted access to my computer to fix claimed issues .
I am a sr. IT Pro. and confirmed they dont know what they are talking about. When i asked for the tech. Name and said i will report that to MS , he hesitated and said i will provide that by email though never provided any email to them.
Look at the phone number. There is only one company that uses the prefix '555'. The phone company. As in 555-1212, or any older movie where they show someone phoning. So right away, the number is spoofed.
