Got a call asking about lowering credit card interest rates. Pressed 1 to speak to an operator, who started off by asking me if it was a Visa or Mastercard I wanted to lower the rate on. When I asked who they were, she hung up. Definitely a scam, but I'd like to know who's behind it.
This is an Ottawa Ontario area code, first thing that came to mind was "maybe it is Revenue Canada calling" but today is family day in Canada and all Govt offices are closed.
same thing for me. recording: "we have made several attempt at contacting you, and this is your last chance to lower your interest rate". I was a bit puzzled, but I pressed 1 anyways, knowing it would be a scam and hoping to threaten them. Sadly, after a couple clicking noises, the line went dead.
