Similar experience, an "Officer David Miller" warning of a tax fraud complaint and demanding a phone call. Second day in a row for a spoof call from someone pretending to be CRA. The tone is worrying, but clearly a scam.
Received a message from Terry Troy from Canada Revenue Agency. That's CRA he said very clearly. Apparently there is a claim against my husband and that he should call before he gets arrested. The message was broken up and it was extremely difficult to understand. "Terry" did not say my husband's first name very well but he did have his middle name!!
I had been away, and check my messages when I got back, so I don't know what day they called. Very heavy accent, I think his name was Kevin and something about calling 1-613-699-5283 or I would be arrested for tax fraud. the call actually shows coming from 1-800-267-6999. Since this was late Friday, I can't get a hold of the tax offices till Monday or Tuesday, but I'm definitely going to check it out.
My mother received a message this past Friday from "Canada Revenue Agency" saying that she will be arrested on tax fraud. She could not make out his name as he had an accent but he left a number for her to call back "1-613-699-5283".
She called back this morning and spoke to a David Miller, an officer with Revenue Canada and he said his number was 2DP2493.
He continued to scare my mom with talk about "arresting her for tax fraud" and "someone had filed a lawsuit against her".
I Googled the phone number she had called and read that it was a SCAM and to avoid all calls from 613 area code.

Same as the last comment. I was told I was going to be arrested for tax fraud. Heavy Indian accent. Asked me to call this phone number and ask for David Miller. This is a scam.
It is the second time they do this in the past three months.
