Call came very early this morning from CRA's regional offices ....in India. The usual scam about taxes owed and the police being sent to arrest you. This is call number 4 to our phone from this number...all unanswered because we don't talk to criminals.

Okay...this is a scam by the ignorant that can only succeed with exceptionally naive targets. The criminals are ignorant because they know nothing about CRA's organization and approaches; they know nothing about the police (really, they are going to arrest you??? They don't even come for serious criminals and the police absolutely don't work for CRA); and the criminals certainly don't know about time zones. Stupid criminals because it took them a year or two for them to figure out that it is CRA in Canada not the IRS.

But if you really have time to waste on them, ask them, 'Which police are coming for me? Is it the State Troopers, the Rangers, the FBI, the Surete, the OPP, the city police, RCMP, CSIS........" You will get an amusing answer, no doubt.
