this number 1-613-701-0864 keeps calling and when i pick up, it's a fax....
i tried dialing it directly, but a (Bell?) message comes on saying the number isn't in use..
They have tried 6 times now, in the past hour...and finally i received a fax -
it was from online auctions for Platinum Asset Services.
It says if you want your number to be removed, call 1-866-265-3545
I have been receiving phone calls from this number for weeks now.. it seems like it is a fax machine. I do not know how to get rid of it. It calls at all hours
I have been getting these types of calls for two years (from 613-249-3231 through 3235). I just keep blocking them through Verizon (temp for 90 days). I have finally added a contact to my cell with these numbers and auto-forward to voice mail (it doesn't ring, or charge minutes).
This is for another set of numbers, but I bet it's the same 3rd party service that companies use (numbers are 613-701-0864 and 0865). Today I saw the influx start to come, so I forwarded my cell to a fax machine - you have to do this. The fax I got was from Vancouver airport, and came with a number to call if it was received in error. I called, spoke to a pleasant woman and she stated that my area code is one off from theirs, and that all of their exchange numbers are the same as mine. Someone fat fingered the area code (603 instead of 604). She sent it off to be removed. Hopefully that stops some, if not all, of them.
I have just removed the block for the 613-249-32xx numbers to see if they stop, and I will forward them to the fax if they do come in.
Bottom line here, companies are using this 3rd party company, and they are getting incorrect numbers. I'm not so sure that these are all spam faxes.
I been getting the fax call every holiday / long weekend. I was able to call conference a fax number to receive the fax.

And I got a fax ad from Yellow pages from California for an insurance company that had my home number over a decade ago. They are persistent in wanting 'your business' but aren't smart enough to realize numbers change or to check before faxing their ad.
So it must be a third party distribution center since other folks have gotten different 'ads'.
