This number (613-707-0393) has been scam calling people claiming they are from Revenue Canada and investigating a tax fraud evasion under your name. They claim you have to pay an amount and you can only do it by credit card or they will send someone to your house to arrest you. After hanging up, I called Winnipeg Police who confirmed they have received over 100 calls about this exact thing and that it is a scam. Revenue Canada will never ask for payment over the phone. If you receive one of these calls, inform your local police services right away to document it.
I called "Peter Brown" whose name was given to my parents at this number today to let him know that we are reporting him to the RCMP. They are scamming people telling them that the police are coming to arrest them for not paying their taxes for 7 yrs....
My wife received a call, which went to voice mail. The call display showed 1-800-959-8281 (Revenue Canada). Same tax evasion scam that others have received, requesting her to call 613-707-0393. My question is how are they able to manipulate call display to show the actual number for Revenue Canada?
A message was left for my husband asking him to call back re: tax fraud and evasion. The guy said he was an inspector with the Canada Revenue Agency. Seemed fishy.
