ok, twice in a few hours. It's making me mad now. Figures it's tax season and this is why they are trying to freak people out. But my question is, if it's a machine asking for you to call them back and some tried to call back and nobody answers, then what's the point? How are they going to scam you?
A name called Mike Lead was saying he's working from Revenue and while I put him on hold to grab the pen to take note his full name and the ID number he's giving me he just hung up on the phone. I called him back because I'm thinking it must be from revenue then I can no longer reach him as the phone is always busy or I being hang up. I have a suspicion that it should be a scam...
Just got the same call this morning. You can hear in the background that it's some kind of call center. I answer the phone and an automated message immediately went on telling me I was in trouble etc.and to not ignore the message and to call back. Except, I was on the phone, why would an automated message call me?! Definitely a scam, but can't say it didn't freak me out a little..
ditto here in Montreal. Some fast talking guy telling me I was in trouble with CRA and I better call him right away and not ignore his call or else he cannot be held accountable.
