This number has just started to call my phone. Once yesterday, twice today. first two times he never asked for anyone specifically. Third time he asked for my mr or mrs (mentioned my roommates last name as its his name the phonne is under)...i said there is no mrs. he asked to speak with the homeowner i told him its not a house, i rent. i then proceeded to tell him that this was his third call, he tried arguing it was his first till i mentioned i had caller id. after telling the guy to quit calling as he wouldnt get anymore answers he hung up quickly.
Calls about ducts, I have boiler heat. I inform them I am not interested but they call daily. I attempt to call back to remove myself from their list but the line gives a false "This line is not connected" message inconsistent with Canadian tel-co. Research says this is a scam if you google Duct Cleaning Calls Ontario, you can see this is a very large issue.
Just had a similar call, the number was identical expect with a +4 in front of it, a small bit of research suggests that the number is spoofed as not valid, probably VOIP.
Called us July 7th asking for the owner of the house, talked a little bit about duct cleaning but we just tried to shake them off as busy.
Called about 20mins ago (July 9th 2012) asking specifically by surname however getting the gender incorrect, maybe want to hook you into thinking they are legit because they know your name. I said the person wasn't available and maybe tomorrow. Then asked if he could call back at 8pm. I asked what it was concerning and he hung up.
Normally I would not connect the calls except for the unusual +4 shown in front of the phone number
Got calls daily ('cept for Sunday). Today was their 7th call. I asked them since call 1 to take us off their calling list (we live in an apartment complex, all maintenance included). Today I told person that they have called almost every day for over a week, and that I asked to be taken off their list since Day 1. The reply was "F*** You/Off (?)" (sorry thick accent, first word was unmistakable), then they hung up on me. Called Bell (Ontario) and they explained number is probably a computer spoof and their real number would not be findable. Called my phone provider (Tek Savvy) because Bell mentioned they might have records of incoming calls, but they didn't. Customer service with both TS and Bell (surprisingly) were sympathetic, but could not give help to prevent the calls.
Thinking I should get an air horn, and every time they call - give them a toot, perhaps deafen them for a bit *grin. I know people need work, but since they are not even calling from a real number, giving them any info like credit card info would be equal to getting a website, posting that info and personal contact and let people enjoy the balance!

Caller Type should be POSSIBLE FRAUD since NO COMPANY would allow representatives to treat possible customers like that!
These guys have called my house at least a dozen times in the last 3 weeks. Every time I have told them that I rent and am not interested. Usually they hang up before I do. Today I changed my strategy, gave them a fake name and sent their "tech" to city hall for a duct cleaning. I assume I'll get more harassing phone calls but since we get one almost every day, it's time someone starts wasting some of their time. Why don't the police set up a sting and confront the "techs" who are obviously prowling around the city?
