Just got a phone call from this number. Saying a warrant would be issued for my arrest hahaha. Okay. Pretty sure if there was a problem then the real Revenue Canada would contact me and not some scam artist who can't get a real job.
My elderly parents receive an unintelligible voice mail from 1 613 800-7541, claiming to be Revenue Canada. I tried to call back on their behalf; a man with a strong accent answered and the call was quickly terminated. When I tried to look up the number, it linked to a Chinese-language Web site. Smells fraudulent.
Received voicemail from 1 613 800 7541. It was muffled and lady spoke very fast. Caught the phrases saying my account was in arrears and a warrant for my arrest had been issued. Called back, after several rings machine answered saying they were unable to connect my call as dialed. Will inform local police as Revenue Canada do not issued arrest warrants. Total scam!!!!
This scam about the CRA issuing a 'warrant for your arrest' has been on the news. I got called 15 minutes ago. Once the thieves get your number, you will likely end up on a sucker call list for whatever scam is dreamed up next. (When their line eventually gets shut down by the phone company, they simply open a new account under another name. Too bad there isn't more international co-operation on catching these people. Maybe some jail time would smarten them up?)
Confirming what others have said - it is a recording saying that an arrest warrant has been issued and they are the Canada Revenue Agency. Annoying and worrisome that people are getting taken in by this scam!
