I started receiving phone calls the last month from various "officers" of the legal department of the CRA, saying that they had a legal case and a warrant on me. The phone display showed 800-959-8251, which was the genuine CRA number listed for indiidual with concerns to reach out to CRA, however, the caller who called from that number and left me this scam message told me to return his call asap at 613-800-9166. And yes, he sounded East Indian and the line was very static.
this is a total scam, caller tried to tell me that there was a warrant out for my arrest for back taxes owed to Revenue Canada.....Revenue Canada does not ask for money over the phone and does not communicate by phone, only by mail.
could hardly hear this East Indian man. Said something about a warrant, having the RCMP come over to arrest him unless he called, and left this number. Had to listen to it 6 times to get the full thing.
Idiots! Wish they could legally execute people who made calls like these...no matter what THEIR laws in THEIR country say!

I got the same call about a warrant out for my arrest. Very heavy accent. Tough to understand. Wanted me to call him back, saying that the number is his direct line. I tried to call, but it did not ring at all. Thank you to all who are posting here.
Two calls left on my answering Machine this week and a call to my wife today. Total scam...I just kept calling this number plus the 1-800-959-8281 number back repeatedly. They started telling me to FO!...was hilarious..they were screaming at me to get off the phone...lol
