Male with strong East Indian accent called left number to cb. Called back and was told by Kevin Johnson, 55239 badge number (same voice) that we need a lawyer and would not specify the issue. I jept pressing for what the charges were and when. Apparently 2011 and then he said I am hanging up npw -which he did but with no God bless this time. I firmly believe this to be a prank call -my taxes are up to date and I owe no money. But this type of call would probably really worry elderly folks.
I had a message left in our voice mail claiming that me and my husband have an on going legal action against our name, his name was Marcial Deeman, with a heavy accent. He said he is with criminal investigations with the CRA and we have warrant arrest out for us and we need to return his call to 613-927-9652 to settle before they will send the final warrant to our local RCMP. The quality of the connection is very poor and so his English. It is a scam because we don't owe money to CRA and we pay our tax on time.
I had the exact same voicemail only his name was Adam Smith (with a very hard to understand accent). We don't owe any money to CRA and my accountant said there is a very strict and lengthy process the CRA in regards to tax fraud and evation and this did not make any sense. We were quite worried and glad to see this post and realize it is a scam.
Got this same exact scam..they said we owed revenue Canada money and to get these pre-paid cards from rexall pharmacy and if we don't send the money an arrest warrant would then be called out to the RCMP..found it weird cause revenue Canada does not make u go and buy these pre-paid cards from rexall pharmacy. and tell rexall employees that these cards are for personal use, workers at rexall would then have no idea what ur using this pre-paid card for,but if it was a business then rexall would then let u know that there are fraud going around but would let u know once u say personal cards, then either u or rexall wouldn't notify u about fraud
The same voicemail and he did not speak clearly, the accent was very strong. He did not have a first name for the person he was making the warrant out for. He gave his name as Davey Plett. Scam
also received call from a Marcial Deeman (heavy accent) claiming to be with the CRA over a so called debt from 5 to 7 years ago. He said it had to be paid today or court action would be taken. He phoned back after 10 minutes asking if arrangements are being made - total scam. CRA does not work this way in collecting debt.
