Exactly like others reported. Heavy accent; Revenue Canada; ignore at our peril; did not know name of who he was calling. Spouse turned phone over to me but he'd just finished his spiel. My search says number originates in Athens, Ontario.
Called Ottawa Police to ask what I should do. She asked if we'd bitten but I said no. She said to call the Canadian Anti Fraud Cente @ 1-888-495-8501. Don't think we'll get much help there as they only work 5 days a week at normal hours. Did supply a web address to report but did not repeat it. I think it was CanadianFraudCentre.ca or just FraudCentre.ca. Try either. "Centre" may also be "Center". Who knows these days.
Called 4 times so far today. Very annoying. Same message each time. «this call is directed to..» the tone of the voice change «you» than it gets back to the original voice.
This guy, "Officer" Jason Miller left a "threatening" message for me twice, yesterday. I called Bell Canada. I was advised not to call back. It's a scam or fraud. he is not an "Officer", & he mentioned no name, because he doesn't know names. I was advised to call the Canadian Anti Fraud Center. I did, but they only work 5 days a week. (Big help!)
